Mourning Doves and Quail

I spent part of yesterday stitching away on Heartstrings Samplery's "Mourning Doves".  I spent most of the time working on the monster flower on the right.

While I do have four or five Mourning Doves, they are totally out-numbered by the California Quail.

This is the group with the oldest, and thus largest babies.

The single adult male is watching over something like 28-32 youngsters.

They are now close to 3/4 sized birds.

That made it easy for my to establish that this is a 'new' family with six tiny chicks.

There is a Mama and Papa bird looking over this brood.

Adorable, right?

This is pretty adorable too.

Bunnies to the left and quail to the right!

Where should we go next?

I'm on my way!

I'm loving your stitching project. The series is so pretty! I think the quail are my second favorites after the hummers.
