Saturday's Critters

Am I feeding birds?

Or am I feeding big Western Gray Squirrels?

I think it's the squirrels for the win.

Be still my heart.

Young female fawn.
Have a restful Saturday.

This is the tree with the big Pileated Woodpecker which flew away before I could get my camera out and focused!

I did better with a couple of small Downy Woodpeckers.

Here's a female

There was also a male.

A dark day shot through a window, so not the greatest photos.

I can count on Juncos.

When there are no other birds around

There are Juncos singing

And watching this way

And that way.

There's often a Chickadee or two as well.

Where were you all winter long?

Yes, you!

I've not seen any Bushtits for months now.

The past couple of days a lone female has come by.

In the winter, Bushtits are usually in groups of 6 or more birds.

But as breeding time approaches they split into pairs.

I thought I heard two birds, but only saw this one.
