A Week Later

Chart - "Turkey Time"
Design - "Turkey Time"

Fabric - 32 count Tumbleweed linen
Fibers - GAST - 2 strands over 2 orders
Started - 20 November 2017

I still have a couple more November-themed finishes to share with you.  Here's an extremely colorful turkey for your enjoyment. I think he looks rather worried as well he might.

No worries here!  On rainy days Parvati keeps an eye on the outdoor world from atop her cat tower.

Here's a Cooper's Hawk wings spread wide to dry off after a heavy rain.

The Anna's Hummingbirds go on about their business rain or shine.

The Steller's Jays on the other hand, aren't fond of a downpour.

I counted ten of them earlier this week.

November's Final Walk

Dashing between rain showers with mild temperatures ground fog forms...

...and everything is wet and steamy.

Here's some of the last bits of color...

Big Leaf Maple

Hazel brush

Don't know but it's lovely!

Boom!  All the leaves are gone!  That's November!

Thankful to Stitch and Bird

I think this chart was a gift from someone who no longer blogs due to job changes.  I thought I might start one or two more November-themed stitches before the month ends.

There's certainly much to be grateful for...including a flock on tiny birds.

Bushtits!  The cutest birds ever. A small flock came by Sunday afternoon.

Female on the left (light eyes), male on the right (dark eyes).

I heard them talking to one another as the flitted about in the brush at the edge of the back yard.

A couple of birds darted out to the suet feeder.

Looks like two females.

Yes, it was raining.

Another small delight showed up, a Red-breasted Nuthatch.

It's rare to get a photo of this bird 'right-side up'.

The Chestnut-backed Chickadee made a trifecta of little birds.

You may not think that little birds can handle peanut spilts, but they do just fine, carrying it off to eat it in a protected area.

There were several slightly larger Golden-crowned Sparrows...

...and Oregon Juncos.

After the Feast

Design - "Autumn Tree"
Designer - The Trilogy
Fabric - 32 count Natural linen
Fibers - WDW & GAST - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 17 November 2017
Completed - 20 November 2017

We gathered together at a table filled with amazing food.

I think most everyone ate well over the holiday weekend.

It's been unseasonally warm even when it has poured buckets.

The California Quail appear impervious to the weather vulgarities.

I am seeing far more males than females...

...that will make for interesting times come spring.

You'll need to be especially handsome come April sir!

Sunday's Hummers

It is always a thrill when I have two birds at the same feeder!

99% of the time it is two female Anna's.

I talked to someone who has seven hummingbird feeders because he has seven birds and they won't share!

I have five feeders and probably that many birds too.

Here's my adult male Anna's.

Showing off his 'bling'!

He does not believe in sharing.

So multiple feeders are they way to go.

Saturday's Critters

I am still seeing a few chipmunks.

They've been trying to shred my gardening gloves and a blanket we have outside for Parvati, so I cut up an old towel.  I am anxious to see if they'll use the bits of towel to make their winter nests.

This one found a cup of shelled peanuts.

Christmas in November!

Look at his right cheek - stuffed with peanuts!

Courtship Season continues.

This guy looks like he's injured his back right leg.

Very intent and focused...

...on this sweet young thing.
