An Autumn Walk

Yet another older cat stitch.  Sometimes when looking at something after several years, you notice a new/old detail like the heart in the bottom left square.

It is officially autumn - let's take a walk and see what there is to be seen.

We were blessed with a bit more rain last week.

Some plants, like this blackberry, don't know when to quit!  There is no way that these blooms will ever see mature fruit.

Thistles also never say die!

I am enjoying the sweet yellow blossoms of Linaria vulgaris - Butter and Eggs.

The very edges of the oak leaves are starting to turn color.

The dogwood leaves turn a lovely crimson.  Can you see the small orange honeysuckle berries twining up the leaves?

Poison oak is another autumn beauty - don't touch!

Sweet little pale purple flowers of our native Douglas aster.

The wild cherries make a statement come autumn

And the day ends with a lovely sunset!

There have been some gorgeous sunsets here! We are seeing some color but to be honest, it is so dry that many trees are just dropping their leaves. Love your Kathy Barrick cat finish :) Did you see her newest Heaven and Nature Sing? Oh my word, I saw it and 5 minutes later I was purchasing it at her Etsy site. LOL!

Yup--there's another KB/GH piece... really nice also! I discovered her years after she stopped designing GH, but now she is designing again, and some of it is pretty nicely done! Hard to know if Autumn is here yet... now all our colors are blowing away! Yikes! Hugs!
