This is a small piece. Including the frame it measures 6" x 7". The frame picks up the hues in the word 'nest'. I very much like the tiny beading around the rim of the frame. For the first time ever I had something framed without glass. I must confess that it looks rather naked to me.

Sometimes when nesting activity is going on there are fewer birds at the feeders.

I've had fewer, but I did see this little yellow blob.

Closer examination showed it to be a male Wilson's Warbler.

I've seen the bird three times now, this was the first time I was able to get a photo.  Warblers flit so much they are difficult to capture.  I've also seen a Black-throated Gray Warblers and a Yellow Warbler, but am photo-free thus far.

Mourning Doves are still courting I think - not yet nesting.

I am hoping that the Ravens are nesting as I've only seen one bird. 

I still have nice flocks of Evening Grosbeaks.  They usually nest at higher elevations, but I might get lucky and have a couple of pairs stay here.

I think I have five pairs of Violet-green Swallows. They are definitely in the nest-building mode. 

The Acorn Woodpeckers nest later in the summer.

Junco also generally nest in forests and at higher elevations, I'm down to just 3 or 4 birds.
