Design - "Crows...A Fine Day" (kit)
Designer - Bent Creek
Fabric - 32 count Summer Khaki linen
Fibers - WDW
Started - 12 October 2010
Completed - 15 October 2010
Yesterday was a blustery day, so the swirls stitched in "Crow..." are especially appropriate. We are fortunate that for all the many birds we do have on the property, we do not have crows. There is a rookery far past our house somewhere deeper in the country. On summer mornings I can hear and watch the crows as they fly into town on their morning commute; then again in the evening as they return home.
On the bird front, there are still about a dozen band-tail pigeons hanging around, and one pair of evening grosbeaks.
As for gardening, I'm keeping with my "looking to the future, looking back at the past" theme. Note the three succulents below.

The green pot and the blue pot (left) 14 weeks later.
They are both, finally, about ready to bloom.

The blue pot (on the right on the original photo) 14 weeks later cascading over the rim and awash in blooms.
I love the texture of the silvery-blue sedum in the center pot. I stroke it like a cat every time I walk by.
There are more weekend Porch and Garden reports at First a Dream. Enjoy!
