Perfect sunny July weather - off we go!
These tall grasses (almost 5' tall) line part of the bank of the Big Creek.
Douglas' Spiraea (Spiraea douglasii) is in bloom.
Most of the wild cherries have been consumed.
False Solomon's Seal berries are still ripening...
...as are these berries.
The Cow's Parsley has gone to seed.
Now you can see how Thimbleberry got its name!
The berries to resemble thimbles.
I almost waited too long to see our native Columbia Lily in bloom.
I don't know what this white flower is and cannot investigate as it grows in what passes as a swampy area - it is wet and muddy all year long.
The Seep Spring Mimulus (Mimulus guttatus) is blooming profusely...in a seep!
The Lupine has gone to seed.
I think this is another cherry - much later developing fruit.
The Nootka Roses have about finished up.
The Elegant Brodiaea (Brodiaea elegans) is one of our pretty July wildflowers.
It makes a pop of color among the dried meadow grasses.
Ocean Spray (Holodiscus discolot) is still blooming its heart out.
Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota) dominates the July and August meadows.
Lots and lots of blackberry blossoms and new berries. The birds will be pleased!
We'll end the walk admiring our Mudroom flowerbed. It has really come into its own in July.

I really enjoy our walks on the property, and the Columbia Lily wins my eye this time! But...coming home to the Mudroom garden is a delight! It really HAS taken off this season! Congrats!
Your mudroom bed is lovely, I can see why so many birds visit you. Interesting post of the plants. Are your thimble berries edible? I have been busy picking wineberries, they make the greatest jam. Enjoy your post as always, Mary

Wow! Your mudroom flowers are fantabulous! And I love all the wildflowers, but my heart belongs to the Queen Anne's Lace. So lovely! Thanks for making my day.
