No males in sight. I read on Facebook that a New Mexican National Park was on alert for the first male Rufous Hummingbirds to show up on their return to Central and South America. They show up in mid-March and leave by mid-July.
I do have several Anna's (females). Here they are arguing...

So enjoying your hummingbirds! We've not seen a single one this year - I blame the bunnies who nibbled the tops of our lobelia before they even got going ... though I can't bear to chase them.
I would have never imagine they can have so many (and funny) expressions :-) By the way as the crows here have -too-, I guess it's just us, humans, who sometimes forget how wonderful mother nature is !
I am not getting the same hummingbird traffic that I had earlier in the summer. I just assumed that they have a great number of options around here as the summer progresses, so why come to my artificial feeder? I do still occasionally see two of them chasing each other - I am guessing it's territory they are fighting over. Your pictures are precious!

Spectacular photos of the hummingbirds ❤️ My males have been gone since before the 4th very early this year, I usually have a few that stick around till August! Just love these little birds so miss them when they leave.....have a great week!
Wonderful pictures!! Two houses down, a bear got another feeder. It's been quite the year for them.
