October's Marigold - Finished!

Design - "October's Marigold"
Designer - Cottage Garden Samplings
FAbric - 32 count Lambswool linen
Fibers - WDW - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 23 September 2014
Completed - 27 October 2014

A wonderful October stitch! Black and orange aren't my favorite colors by any stretch, but with the yellow, orange and green of the marigolds I think the piece is great and is probably going to be on my short list to be framed next year.

Here's a final celebration of our October Marigolds taken mid-month.

My sister loves September and October. These flowers are part of the reason why.

Here are a few birds sporting October colors.

Love your finish! Congrats!! I don't care for the starlings either, but they are rather dramatic looking birds. Are all of the goldfinchs this muted color for winter? No more bright yellow?

Congrats on your October finish - it's just gorgeous! Those marigolds are stunning. Maybe we appreciate their colours more now that there is so much more grey around!

October Marigold looks great. We've had several frosty mornings and very chilly temps, but for some reason we have flowers blooming, including marigolds, snapdragons, blanket flowers and tickseed. So odd for this time of year.

I could watch the Goldfinches and House Finches all day long. Your's are so pretty.

Pretty stitching and bird shots as well!

Here, with two heavy frosts under our belt, my marigolds are still blooming! Petering out but still alive :)

It's a wonderful fall finish. And of course you have matching marigolds from your garden. I would expect no less! ;)
