Red White, and Blue Birdhouse and Yellow Birds

Design - "Stars and Stripes Stoop"
Chart - "Birdhouse Collection"
Designer - Heart in Hand
Fabric - R & R 18th Century Stone linen
Fibers - DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 18 July 2017
Completed - 19 July 2017

I changed the colors to from ecru to white, 310 (black) to 791 (blue), and used 817 (red) as charted. Do you think someone might like to live in a red, white, and blue bird house?

Parvati was not born in a bird house, rather she was born in a box in my cloths closet.  Her mother, Cleo, insisted that she was going to deliver her kittens there, and so she did.

Cleo and I have seen some 'rarely seen' summer birds this past week.

A young Yellow-breasted Chat came by for a visit.

Puffy and feathery with indistinct markings -all clues this is a young bird.

I had trouble IDing him, but the shape and size of the bill was one of the ways I settled on Chat.

Someone told me they prefer birding in the winter as there are no leaves obscuring the birds!

But since most of these guys are summer birds, I'll put up with a few leaves.

Here a Wilson's Warbler peeks out from a Douglas Fir bough.

Deep in the shade I found a reclusive Macgillivray's Warbler.

I have been fortunate to have a male Western Tanager stop by on several occasions - sometimes even coming to the feeders.

Sometimes lurking in the thicket.

I wish he'd chosen to perch at the top of this wire cage instead of sitting in the middle of it.

On the other hand, I got a really good look at him.

Beggars cannot be choosers...

...and I'll take any look I can of this beautiful bird.

Wow!! What great birds! Yes, that is a Chat... cutie patootie! And the colors on the Tanager... phew, so vivid. Plus two other warblers... which I don't think I shall ever see out here--congrats! It was a good day! Hugs!

I LOVE the birdhouse stitch Beth! You should paint one like that. Our children painted a red white and blue birdhouse when little and yes, we had residents.
I had a cat named Schnooky who gave birth under my blankets in my bed while I slept when I was 15 years old!! I will never forget waking to a sticky, wet mess on my legs!

That tanager is just stunning! His colors are so vibrant! Gorgeous yellow!
You seem to have a great fondness for yellow...all your kitties have been yellow, and beautiful! I always loved yellow cats, and had one for a long time as a child. Yellow cats seem to be very sweet.
