We're Still Humming

My feeders are as busy as they've ever been.
Mostly females, but on the right is a male Anna's with a bright red head.

Zoom...and off he goes.

As I said mostly females, so it was nice to see a male bird or two.

You have to admire the jewel-toned feathers on the throat.

Here he looks a bit pensive.

Now back to females - this time Rufous.
I had three, yes three birds at the same feeder - for a second or two anyway!

I have five or six birds - enough so I'm refilling my feeders every two to three days.

one year ago today Mom and I visited the Waddesdon Manor a Rothschild home in Buckinghamshire.

Yesterday my daughter and family came across a hummer that was on the ground. They texted me to ask what to do with it... I told them it was probably a fledge, and the parents were probably nearby so they should leave it be... which they did. It flew away. Love the pictures!

Beautiful hummingbird pictures! We just watched a program on Yellowstone in the Spring and they had some amazing up-close, slo-mo footage of hummingbirds.

Jewel like is so apt in describing their feathers. These photos didn't enlarge the way your photos usually do Beth.

I am happy to report that I have seen the Annas back for just a few visits-much better than not at all.
