This weekend my sister will go down to Roseburg, Oregon for the last of the dahlia shows.
She has 25 entries staged and ready to go.
This triple is my favorite - let's wish her good luck and take a look at the Dahlia Garden one more time.
Besides dahlias, she has some rows of cut flowers including cosmos...
bachelor buttons...
and 'Persian Carpet' zinnias.
Now on to the dahlias.
I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves.
My sister works on and off all year on her garden. Planning, purchasing, planting, tilling, setting out, growing, tending, digging up, dividing. It is a passion for her.
A healthy garden attracts pollinators.
Love these pollen-speckled bumble bees in the zinnias.

I was going to try to tell you my favorite dahlia, and I can't!! ;) To hard. I think she will do well.
Oh yes... those are gorgeous selections and should do very well, at least in my humble opinion!! Love the Dahlia garden and the other assorted flowers. I just came in from the yard, and noticed that my flowers (not sure what they are) have grown a second round and THOSE are flowering already! Woohoo! AND while at the store, picked up a pack of Windflower bulbs for the spring (if the squirrels don't get to them!!)... It is a beautiful day to be thinking about gardening! Thanks for sharing! Best to your sister!
Fabulous floral photos! It would be hard to pick a favorite. Have a wonderful weekend.
Obviously a labor of love. So many stunning examples. Best wishes to her.
What beautiful flowers! Your sister is a talented gardener. Hope her flowers do well at the show.

I can understand why it would be a passion to cultivate such a lovely garden and to surround oneself with so much beauty & color. Lots of luck to your sister at the show.
