Here they are - the female and male Western Tanager!  I appreciate the care and attention to detail Beth Twist paid when she designed the birds.  Their colors and wing patterns are so true to life.

So let's celebrate the Western Tanager with a look back at some of my photos.

This collage of a male Western Tanager was created in July 2015.

Serendipity lives!  This female came by on September 15th while I was stitching away.

I told her she could have posed for the pattern.

I was thankful that she posed for me.

I'll miss you when you leave.

This collage is from August 2014.

One summer I was lucky enough to have a pair of females stop by.

You have to love the true yellow color.

I call the females Banana Birds.

September 2014

I did see a male Western Tanager earlier this summer.

I think like many others, the males leave earlier than the females to stake out their winter territory.

I look forward to seeing you again next year!

Love that word, Serendipity! And the movie!! But, I digress from saying that is a great finish... Beth did a wonderful job with these birds you've been stitching! And of course, you make them come alive! I saw a Scarlet Tanager this year, and a Summer one! Both firsts for me! Yay!
