Here they are - the female and male Western Tanager!  I appreciate the care and attention to detail Beth Twist paid when she designed the birds.  Their colors and wing patterns are so true to life.

So let's celebrate the Western Tanager with a look back at some of my photos.

Serendipity lives!  This female came by on September 15th while I was stitching away.

I told her she could have posed for the pattern.

I was thankful that she posed for me.

I'll miss you when you leave.

One summer I was lucky enough to have a pair of females stop by.

You have to love the true yellow color.

I call the females Banana Birds.

I did see a male Western Tanager earlier this summer.

I think like many others, the males leave earlier than the females to stake out their winter territory.

I look forward to seeing you again next year!
