Cats and Birds

I decided to devote Wednesdays to stitching my oldest WIP: Mosey 'n Me's "Primitive Cat".  I stitched the heart and began the stripes on the cat's knee.  My Cat-Crew is especially taken with the headless bird perched on the back of the cat.

Speaking of the Cat-Crew...

My mother likes to dry laundry outside on nice days, even though she does not have a clothes line.  She moved some chairs together and draped a sheet over.  It instantly became a Cat Attraction and Parvati claimed the territory using it as a blind to watch the birds.

When she'd grown bored with it, her brother Solomon decided to check it out.  Curiosity and cats!

It's is nice to be back down in the 80's. I enjoy sitting in the shade and watching birds like this Red-tailed Hawk.

It's still warm enough that the bird baths and fountains are very popular.
Here's a female Purple Finch.  Female Purple Finches have a long white eyebrow and female House Finches do not. I still have problems discerning the differences between male House Finches and Purple Finches, so I guess I need to see what ladies they are hanging out with and make my guess based on the company they are keeping.

I spied a Bushtit foraging for food.  Folks in the Pacific NW will note that the bird in working in a patch of Poison Oak.

I wonder if the bird is feeding babies.

This Willow Flycatcher was on a wire at the edge of the Big Creek.

I heard it and heard it and heard it, and I kept searching the nearby trees, before I finally looked up at the wire.

I think the bird was laughing at me!

Beautiful bird photos. How old is your oldest WIP? It's a very nice design.

I would love to see a photo of the cover of your WIP. Any idea of what you will do with the chart when done?

Yikes in a patch of poison ivy! Do birds suffer from poison ivy I wore gloves, long sleeves, long pants, took a shower and still got the dreaded stuff.
