Violets and Birds

"V is for Violets" is coming right along.  Lovely colors.

The latest Bird Report finds that the Mourning Doves are billing and cooing.

What's in the hedgerow causing a ruckus?

It's a male California Quail calling (endlessly) to attract a lady.

The female Varied Thrush is a regular visitor at the suet feeder.

It will be interesting to see if she and the male Thrush hook up.  Someday I might have some fledges at the feeder.

How do you top this action shot?  The Robin gulped down the enormous earthworm in one bite...and then proceeded to find and consume another one.  Enjoy your breakfast (blech!)
