Stitching and Birding

I've started another Heart in Hand Design.
This is a kit called "Pink Heart".

Today is the first day of the Great Backyard Bird Count.  We are supposed to have a gray, rainy day so it will be interesting to see who is active at the feeders today.

This past week, the woodpeckers have been in the area, but not very active at the feeders.

I've seen a female Hairy Woodpecker with some frequency.

And my Acorn Woodpecker couple have been hanging out together.

I've been seeing the female every bit as much as the male.

I think sometimes she is thinking "What on earth is he doing?!"

While he looks pretty pleased with himself.

Peanuts are popular and the birds have also been eating sunflowers from the big bird feeder and suet from the feeder in the back yard.

Only one photo of a Flicker to share this week.

A female Pileated Woodpecker came by one morning.

I was only able to take a couple of photos before she flew off.

So now I am off to count birds with Parvati!

I don't think I will participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count this year. It is just tooooooo cold for me to go outside and I don't like doing it through the window. I like to be outside with them!
