Hummingbird Saturday - The Annas

On a rainy day this Anna took shelter under the Front Porch.

She was able to stand guard over her feeder and still stay dry.

I continue to remind them that I do have three feeders - they could share!

But that does not seem to be their nature.

They must enjoy their battles and the flying acrobatics that take place.

I will leave the feeders up all fall and winter long as the Anna's are year around residents.

This is one bird I have not seen in my area. My new neighbor has a feeder up but it is late... Today I saw a Red-Bellied Woodpecker! Wasn't sure what it was, but I listened to its song, and searched online based on the red head and then the song! Too cool! So now I am re-thinking the four flickers I thought I saw earlier, cause this Red-Bellied Woodpecker has a similar body coloring, and I did NOT hear their songs... Hmmm... It's all because of your inspirational blog that I even knew this little bit of info! thanks so much! Hugs!
