There's Always Something / Someone Interesting at the Market!

Design - "Happy Flag Flag Day"
Designer - The Trilogy
Fabric - 32 cnt Natural Light linen
Fibers - WDW - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 20 July 2012
Completed - 25 July 2012

All I can say: Boy there are a lot of stitches in that-there wavy flag!

There's always something / someone interesting at the Farmers' Market.

The City of Eugene is considering banning plastic bags.
I think that Plastic Man was publicising that.

We had cherries

and fennel

and blackberries

and Walla Walla onions

and currents

and Torpedo onions

and peas

and Cibola onions

and the first sweet corn of the season!

Cute finish! The market goods look yummy! Good idea on the plastic bags. They should do that everywhere.

God I wish I had a farmers market like that around here! Nothing like fresh goodies from the market.

I think the bagman might be making a good case for the banning of plastic bags don't you think? It seems to be a topic of interest everywhere now. I have one concern - would grocers for example revert to paper bags then or would people opt for reusable bag. I know someone did a study on the bags here and some have more environmental harm (oil products, etc.) than multiple plastic bags! I found that astounding. Just a thought :)

Happy Stitching and thanks for sharing these beautiful photos (I'm starving now they look so yummy!).

Great finish, it's beautiful! Of course, I'm partial to anything Flag Day...since that's my birthday, lol. Looking at all those yummy fruit & veggie pics makes me excited for our local farmer's market tomorrow. Mmmm-mmm!

I was surprised to see the photo of the corn. My friend in Chicago told me she hasn't seen any this year at all. I heard a news article saying that the crops have been decimated this year with the drought.

Love the flag finish! I have never seen some of those kind of onions - interesting. And, I, too, have heard scary talk about the lack of corn. Several farms around here just tilled the dead plants into the ground. SAD

Flag Day turned out very pretty. I enjoyed seeing plastic bag man. Seattle has ban them but not yet on our side of the water. What a lot of delicious things at the market!

Plastic bag man! What next!! He rivals some of the people we see coming in to the library each day :)

Love your latest finish, Beth!!
