First Walk in March

There are bright green bits everywhere as trees and shrubs begin to leaf out.

We have several groups of daffodils in bloom.

The wild plums are blooming too.

They attract the earliest of the pollinators...

...which in turn attract insectivores like Kinglets.

Grape Hyacinths

Daffodils corralled in a terracotta pot.

Daffodils free to spread out and multiply.

Buds on a Big Leaf Maple.

Native Huckleberry

Hazel catkins

Hawthorn berries - I do not understand why the birds are not eating these!
