What's up in Birdland?

After a couple of week's hiatus, the Violet-green Swallows are back.
They truly are not serious about house hunting quite yet.

The Black-capped Chickadees are very active.

I'm thinking this may well be my last photo of a White-throated Sparrow for several months.  These birds will head north to breed.

They are being replaced by White-crowned Sparrows.

I've seen as many as four birds - they'll nest here.

The Mourning Doves are pairing up.

And while I've not yet seen an American Goldfinch, I do have more Lesser Goldfinches than in past years - eight or nine birds at last count.  Just like gardening, each birding year is uniquely  different than past years.

That white-crowned sparrow is such a pretty bird. Love that little stitched piece.
