Free as a Barn Swallow

Design - "Free" (Curio)
Designer - Heart in Hand
Fabric - WDW 30 count Dolphin linen
Fibers -Crescent Colors, GAST & WDW - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started -31 July 2016
Completed - 2 August 2016

I snuck in one more patriotic stitch before the month of July ended.  I've never stitching on this color of linen before - Dolphin - I quite like it.

On Monday morning a group of Barn Swallows gathered on the roof of the house.

I think it must have been a newly fledged family.

Being Barn Swallows they chattered non-stop.

They are very attractive birds - elegant really with their brown and black outfits.

Here's a nice side view.

And the bird on the left is showing off their elegant long tail-feathers.
Their brown bellies and deeply forked tail make it easy to ID them in flight.

The one on the left is chattering away.

"Well?!", he seems to ask the one on the right after he finishes speaking.

"Do I need to repeat myself?"

"Hmmph!"

Funny! And cute! I got out of the house a couple of times in the last two days, while it was not as hot, and each time I saw swallows! They were flying above, so not easy to see their coloring, but definitely swallows. Maybe tree? Don't know... Love the pictures you took... so funny!
