Design - "Watermellon"
Chart - "123 August"
Designer - Curtis Boehringer
Fabric - 32 count Antique White Jobelan
Fibers - DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 4 August 2016
Completed - 5 August 2016
This is an old chart originally part of the 3 for 2 series - 3 patterns for $2. As these have been out of print for years, Curtis Boehringer has released them for sale as PDFs on his website. July and August are available for $5.00 each.
This pattern is correctly titled 'Watermellon' with two Ls. I changed the design to spell watermelon with one L and changed the color of the watermelon seeds to DMC 3371. I think it is a great start for my theme of August stitches.
What with all the Trail Camera photos, I haven't posted any hummingbird photos for a while.
It's funny, sometimes I get mostly Rufous, sometimes, like this week, the photos are of mostly Anna's Hummingbirds.
Here's a female Anna's.
And I think this might be a young male Anna's.
See the color on the throat?
This Anna's also has a colored throat.
But with no direct sunlight, the feathers just look dark rather than fuchsia colored.
Here's a Rufous female working a perennial Lobelia.
When I visited the Secret Garden Nursery in June, I bought six plants with the hummers in mind. That's one of them...
...and this fuchsia is another.
Thanks for stopping buy girls.

Congratulations on your Watermelon finish! I like your changes. What fabulous hummingbird pictures you shared.
Love seeing your hummingbirds! We actually had one last week (husband: what's that big bug? Hee!)
Your Noah's ark pieces in your header are lovely!
Oh, I do love hummers! Almost as much as parrots!

I love that you share the hummers! I have spent a bit of time over at Cornell's cams watching their hummers... I think I have seen five or six different species, including the Magnificent and the Lucifer ones! I did screenshots of them so I have them forever! Cause I will never see them here! Ha! I got CB's July charts first thing... especially after seeing your finish! Now on to August! Hugs!
