I got off to a late start today.
So let's take a mid-morning stroll.
Butter and Eggs or Yellow Toadflax (naria vulgaris)
Chickory
Close-up
Acorn have started to fall.
Lots more up in the trees.
Oak Galls

The Ash are among the first trees to change color.
Hard to beat Vine Maple for color.
All thick grass down at the edge of the Big Creek.

...and more Cascara.
I saw several birds including a Downy Woodpecker, Black-capped and Chestnut-backed Chickadees, a Wilson's Warbler, and a Vireo. But the only photo is of a Steller's Jay.

That Chickory blossom is very pretty. The acorns seem to be plentiful this year. Gorgeous blue coloring on the Stellar's Jay!
Leaves starting to turn.... I'm in shock! Wasn't it just spring last week? Beautiful colors on your walk!
