What a lovely bird this is! I got to see the European Goldfinch a few times when I was in England the summer of 2013.
Here's my proof! I managed just one photo of this amazingly colorful bird.
I think it rather puts our American Goldfinch to shame.

Your Goldfinch finish is adorable, Beth.
Love your finish. Hey now. I do NOT think it puts our goldfinch to shame. I LOVE our goldfinches very much. I miss them. I had feeders for them at every home we had. They do not live around here, by the apartment. The the goldfinches are just different, but both gorgeous!!
I think your American goldfinches are very pretty too!
Oh, I don't know, Beth - I think our American Goldfinches are pretty colorful in their own right! Look at that gorgeous yellow!
I've only seen the goldfinches once this year - they are such pretty little birds.
