We lost power on Wednesday December 14th at 4pm, and cable and internet at 9pm. Our power was restored Monday December 19th at 3pm. We've been without cable and internet until late this afternoon when my father was able to work a patch for the internet until the service call scheduled for next Tuesday provides a permanent fix.
During our power outage Padma and Parvati hogged the spots in front of the fireplace and were regular fixtures on warm blankets.
Here's one last look at our Deep Freeze.
I had a couple of squirrels show up looking for food. Tough pickings when most everything is encased in ice.
My Alibaba fountain continued to run unabated. Fresh water is important for birds even in cold weather.
Here's a Golden-crowned Sparrow.
Here's a couple of them.
And let's not forget the California Quail.
Look at the splayed tail feathers.
As soon as the ice began to melt the quail attacked the blackberries leaves, eating vigorously. I had lots of seed set out, but nutritiously their bodies must have demanded greens.
So cold - no wonder this guy is all puffed up.
Buck Rodgers came by and for a moment it looked like a Christmas card outside.

This whole week I have been thinking how very, very smart your father is for having that generator!!
So glad you're okay! Hope you get some bright sunshine to melt all that ice....
Wow! We have been in Alabama. I had no idea the weather was so bad. I'm really glad you have your power back!
