Sunday Hummers

There's still a couple of Anna's Hummingbirds who regularly come to the feeders.

The adult male makes it pretty easy to ID him!

I've also seen a couple of females.

They're spending most of their time in the backyard as I still have flowers with nectar for them to consume as well as feeders.

This fence is the perfect perch to guard both the feeders and the flowers.

Droplets on the beak.

The male thinks the new deer fence also makes for a nice perch.

It's so amazing to see them actually sitting still. They are the sweetest little things.

Incredible! I clicked on and then blew up the first picture in your post and the detail is amazing! But - perhaps because I've been looking at both Tricia Nguyen's blog and at Amy's work on The Owl and the Pussycat a lot recently - he looks like you should stitch him. Look at the front edge at the top of his wing - clearly blanket stitch. ;)

Clearly I have stitching on the brain even more than usual!

That almost neon red on the male makes him easy to spot if the sun hits him right or he turns just right. Lovely pictures!
