The End of April

I was thrilled to see my first Western Pond Turtle the other day.

I've been stopping by the Quarry Pond every week or so, but no turtles until last week.

I am hoping there is more than one turtle.

In between showers, Parvati has been watching wildlife too.

She particularly enjoys watching bunnies...

...and gray squirrels.

But sometimes it is the simplest of things that will amuse her.

A poor stranded angle worm can do the trick.

After all, it wiggles!

Look at the mauled ears on this bunny.

I stand by my earlier statement, no bunny has 'whole' ears.

Every bunny has a notch or two in their ears.

Though..wait a minute.

You may be the exception to the rule.

I've had up to seven chipmunks greet me in the morning.

Four is the more usual number day in ad day out.

They eat standing up...

...or sitting down.

And some folks 'yell' at me to hurry up!

Parvati is adorable! I love the bunny pictures and now I am going to be checking their ears! We have just had one bunny stopping by that I can see. The chippies are endlessly amusing and you have such great pictures of them Beth.

Loved your photo of the tree swallow...so lucky to have snapped that. And what a gorgeous hummingbird. Love looking at them all. Our birds are slowly increasing. The Phoebes are back and I'm so happy about that.

I really enjoyed your photographs. Your bunny pictures bright back thoughts of the story "Watership Down" a wonderful story about survival in a rabbit warren. Very nice!

Your photography is always great!
I love the turtles! There are turtles in the creek beside my house. I don't know what kind they are. They will come out and sun on a rock or a fallen limb. If you make noise when you approach the creek, they will jump in the water and you will see their little heads stick up to breathe! So funny!
Those bunnies are so sweet. And especially the chipmunks. I don't think we have those in MS--I've not seen any. But we do have squirrels galore.
