My sister has been working every weekend, cutting down rows of dahlias for winter storage. We always get a nice bouquet as a result.
I think the rain has cleared, let's go outside.
The Cottonwood trees are the Foliage Stars.
I do have one Big Leaf Maple that is still putting on a show.
Most of the Big Leaf Maples resemble these - their show is over.
There is still some nice color in the hedge row.
And with our recent rains, we have mushrooms popping up everywhere!
I'm not sure who is providing this nice red display.
The Hazel brush is very pretty with leaves and catkins on display.
Here's a close up of a Cottonwood.
They are extremely tall trees, but delicate nonetheless.
Oh, I think the rain has returned - time to duck back inside!

Oh Beth! I am swooning over those dahlias! L♥ve them!
A lovely walk and very pretty dahlias! We finally had a frost last night so everything is ready for winter prep. I leave most perennials so the wildlife can hide.
Those dahlias are gorgeous! And the mushrooms! Hope the storms didn't take your power out -- sounds like it was nasty out your way.
What a beautiful display of color! You are really enjoying the fullness of fall! I'd love for you to share this outdoor post on The Maple Hill Hop!
