Well look who jumped to the front of the line in my stitching rotation!  A white bunny that's who!

My mother and I decided to celebrate spring by visiting a private garden on the outskirts of Salem, OR.

We were greeted by Spooky, the resident Garden Cat.

When a garden has lots of early flowering currants...

...it's bound to have lots of hummingbirds too!

Just look at these Trillums - luscious!

Spring is rebirth, renewal, and green!

Great gardens appreciate and highlight the many shades of green in the plant world.

This green-on-green vignette has no need for flowers.  It is lovely and restful all on its own.

In April in this garden the magnolias and rhododendrons were the stars.

This little arbor instantly transported me to Monet's garden in Giverny.

Pop - an explosion of orange among the green!

The house sits in the middle of the garden.
There is no 'typical' front yard or back yard.

How cute is this?

My mother's favorite magnolia (the butter yellow one) and a gorgeous pine.

Violets, currants, azaleas, rhododendrons, trilliums, magnolias, and more!

Amazing spring color! This acer knocked my socks off!

I haven't even touched on all the one of a kind garden art!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's post.

Splendid! I cannot garden like I used to, due to pain. This was a real treat for me to share in this. Truly. Thanks Beth. :)

Thanks for that beautiful walk. That garden was full of beautiful plants. I love the new design you Have stitched! Plus that hummingbird is just beautiful. Ours seems to have disappeared for a bit.

Another great garden visit! That red bush sure pops! We have forsythia here, which is bright yellow, but similar in shape and design to the red one.
