Pumpkin Pie and Delicata Squash

I spent most of Sunday inside catching up on my "To Do List".  I also managed to work in a bit of stitching on "Pumpkin Pie".  I think it's going to be a real cutie.  The fabric is a lighter, brighter yellow than photographed.

And speaking of Pumpkin Pies...and Squash...

My sister, the Cucurbita Queen, grew a nice little batch of Delicata Squash.  Considering that these vines were over-run by the voracious Marina de Chioggia plants, it is remarkable that they set any fruit at all.

Cut the squash in half and clean.  Bake at 350F for 30 minutes or until tender. Add a mixture of cooked sausage, diced onion, 1 egg, and store-bought stuffing, salt and pepper.  Mix ingredients and generously fill the squash with mixture.   Return to oven for a further 15 minutes.  Enjoy!  This makes a nice meal on a cold autumn night.
We both love the mild sweet nutty taste of Delicata Squash.

Lovely stitching progress--- but darn it, now you've made me hungry! Good thing it's lunch here or I'd have sharp words for your evil picturing of yummy meals! :)
