Stitching and Plants...It is the Name of My Blog After All!

I think you can tell it's a bird!  Now on to the egg!

It's Tuesday and I'm in the mood for a Garden Party (and Pretzels)!

My Garden Party - A Celebration of Plants - begins at the Corvallis Farmers' Market.  First up this amazing vendor's display of plants...

I could not get enough of the lilies...

This variety has an amazing "wow" factor!

And there were monsterous Tiger Lilies too!

Then it was on down the road...
Down Peoria Road to Gindhart Nursery in Shedd, Oregon... a very rural location!

Gindhart's is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July.  They had a great selection of sedums and sempervivums...

Their daylilies were happy and healthy...

As were their quirky hanging baskets.

But what I like best about Gindhart's is their commitment to "Natural Pest Control".  They have one shed that is covered with birdhouses...in addition to a dozen or so Barn Swallow nests in the rafters.

At $2.25 per plant...I had to buy this...

And a couple of ferns too...

What a grand summer gardening adventure--love it! And that first dark red lily--do you know what variety it is? I'd sure love to grow that in my garden.
