One of the Violet-green Swallow nest boxes has baby birds peering out.
Adult on the eve to the left - baby in the house.
Parent and baby
"Feed Me!"
"Now would be good!"
Baby looks disgruntled!
Looking for the other parent - and food maybe.
The yellow corners of the young bird's mouth is called the "gape." Unlike the beak, the gape is made of very soft, stretchy tissue. The wide mouth makes it easier for babies to eat larger-sized food.
Can you see the 2nd bird on the lower right of the hole?
Black-capped Chickadee families have fledged and left the nest.
The youngster are hanging out with their parents.
And they are begging - successfuly!
So fun to watch the young birds.
