Do I give thanks for this guy?

He does serve a purpose.

I've read that a successful hawk, like this Cooper's Hawk, has a 10% kill rate.

This guy uses camouflage to hide while in plain sight. 

Yep, the Brown Creeper returned.

He's most easily seen in silhouette.

The long, curved beak is the secret of his success eating insects in the crevises of the tree bark.

Lots of Towhees out and about.
