What's up down by Dorothy's Creek?
Lots - so this is a photo-heavy post.
Steller's Jay
A new capture for the camera - a Cooper's Hawk with wings spread.
Here he is again.
Skunk
Skunk in profile.
Raccoon
Fox
Wonder if it is the same animal captured in the backyard.
Quite the tail.
Having a drink.
Checking out the pumpkins.
Trio
Slurp.
This is the final photo I have of Heckle and Jeckle - my twin button buck fawns.
I also saw them in the backyard on 10/15. The next day, the doe had only one fawn who stuck close to her. I watched closely the next several days, but the second fawn never appeared. It made me very sad.
Doe and female fawn.
Enjoying the sunshine.
Buck #1
Buck #2
This may well be why Heckle has gone missing.
A mama bobcat and her two kits.
The kits
A single bobcat.
Mama cat
...and a kit.
Just two?
Nope - three cats.
AS my grandfather used to say, "Everyone has to eat."
And a ber came by.
For a drink of water...
and to check out the pumpkins.
Headed off...
No - taking another look.
Back for more water.
Pawing at the pumpkins.
Must be a Mama bear as there's cub as well.
Again sad as earlier this summer there were two bear cubs.

What magic goes on in your backyard. Wonderful viewing. Keep well Diane
What wonderful activity. Except for Heckle being gone now. :(
The circle of life. Beautiful photos!
We still have two does and one fawn in the backyard. We don't see them every day now that the trees have started to heavily drop their leaves. Saw a buck about the same size yesterday still in full day light. He definitely had a scent in his nose and was following the trail the two does and fawn were on the day before.
Lots of activity during October! What great shots of the hawk! Sorry to hear about the missing young buck and the bear cub.
My Dad would have said the same thing about everybody has to eat. Like you. I would still feel sad.
