So far it just looks like lines and squiggles. A few turkeys will follow shortly.
I was able to leave work early Monday afternoon (inventory finished!) and so was able to watch birds for a bit.
Even at 4:00pm there's not much light and everyone was busy getting a last bite or two.
There were several Golden-crowned Sparrows...
...I have very few Goldfinches left, so the Sparrows are one of the
most numerous birds at the feeders...
...and bird baths.
I also have several Towhees.
They scratch in the brush, forage for food on the ground, and are also suet eaters.
I cannot forget the omnipresent California Quail. They are all the same size now - all look like adults and have merge into large groups. We've counted over 40 birds several times.
The highlight of Monday's twilight birding though was seeing my first Varied Thrush of the fall / winter. They are such handsome birds!

Wow! It was great enough to see the Golden Crowned Sparrow, but then... a Varied Thrush!! Wow!!!! And you got such a great picture! Congrats on that one! Hugs!
