Never in All My Days!

On the first of the month, The Little Stitcher released her August bird - a Yellow Wagtail.  I snapped up the digital pattern and will begin working on it shortly. If you've enjoyed watching me stitch this series, you might want to purchase a pattern or two - here's her Etsy shop link

My blog title today - Never in all my days!  What might that refer to you ask. Watching a young chipmunk nurse - something I've never seen before.  And ever so cute.

Baby on the left - Mom on the right.
Trying to nurse one way...

...and then another.

"Mom...please!"

"Whatcha' doing mom?"

"Can I help?'

"Oh, oh!  Opportunity calls - nursing!"

"Ahhhhh!"

"Nirvana achieved!"

"More please!"

"Pleeeease!"

"Seriously mom!"

"Whatcha' looking at mom?"

"Okay this works just fine!" (Note the baby's tail and back paws - he's upside down under his mom's body).

Close up of his tail and paws...

"Love you mom!"

"I'm your co-pilot mom!"

"I watch and learn..."

...and mirror your every action."

Wow -- amazing to see chipmunks nursing! You manage to capture the most interesting wildlife photos. I hope the land around where you live is protected. It seems like a wonderful place for nature.
