Flying Things

Continuing with my 'Stitch Whatever I Want' theme, I've kitted up "Happy Buzz Buzz Day" by The Trilogy.  Great colors on this one and I love the fat bumblebee!

Speaking of things that fly...

While walking along a flash of blue caught my eye.

At first I thought this might be a tiny feather from a Steller's Jay, but now I'm leaning toward a Lazuli Bunting.  The Bunting is a much smaller bird - and a most wonderful blue too.

My sister had a couple of Turkey Vultures hanging out near her garden.  When they'd left she found this wonderful feather.

I think it is interesting how wide the feather is on one side, and narrow on the other.  The quill is big enough that it had to hurt to lose it!

Here's a Steller's Jay feather (for sure).

And this is the feather of a Flicker.

It's interesting how different the two sides of the feather are.
I hope your tail feathers aren't ruffled today!

I loved today's post and its theme. The fat bee is so cute, and it was a real treat to see all the pretty feathers and learn where they came from.
