A Monday Surprise

Design - "Tiny Tim Turkey"
Designer - Bent Creek
Fabric - 32 count Lambwool linen
Fibers - WDW & GAST - 1 strand over 2 threads
Started - 28 November 2011
Completed - 28 November 2011

The background is supposed to be stitched with WDW's Beige - I'm not sure but what I like it better with the fabric showing.

Everyone is still working on left-over right?
Consider this a Stitching Left-over.

Monday morning was damp, gray, and foggy.  I'd been told that Tom-Cat was outside, so I grabbed my camera and headed out in search.  It turned out to be a great morning for wildlife.

I had multiple bunny sightings...

Gold Crowned Sparrows were out and about...

...as was Chip the Munk.

I've noticed that my "Big Bad Boy" bunny has a small white blaze on his head.  That will make it easy to identify him in future photos.

These two female California Quail were all puffed up in response to the cold, wet morning.  They look like little feathered powder puffs.

And here is my 'Monday Surprise' - a male Evening Grosbeak.
I was outside Sunday morning for about an hour, and I thought I heard the clear chirr of a Grosbeak or two, but did not see any.  Now I know my ears were not playing tricks on me.  I don't think that we've ever had Grosbeaks around this time of year before.  I read online that in some northern locations the females migrate south, but the males will hang around if there are feeders of black oil sunflower seeds.  Yep, we have that going on.

This guy was a 'No Fear' bird, so I was able to take several pictures.

BTW - Tom-Cat was warm and dry - sound asleep in a cat-tube tucked underneath my bed!

Great pictures as always. How do you get the wild life to cooperate. I can't get my cats to stay still. (I think their camera shy like me). Great stitching as always - love the turkey. What are you going to do with all the smalls you've been stitching.

Oh Beth I stitched that little turkey too and left the background open - I think he looks great all on his own. Love your pics - those quail are just too cute!
