My favorite framing shop, Capper's Frames and Prints, is having a sale, so yesterday I took down seven - yes seven - cross stitch projects to be framed. I decided that I'd stitched many a rabbit over the years, so I chose "R is for Rabbit" by The Prairie Schooler...
and "Patience 1898" (which I changed to "Elizabeth 2006" to commemorate a year special to me) by Hands to Work. With the sale Capper's is backed up a bit, so it will probably be mid-August before these are ready to pick up.
Last night my sister & I watched "Harry Potter & the Deathly Hollows" - Part One in preparation to seeing the new cinema release - Part Two - with our cousin and her oldest daughter. We were up quite late so I heard it begin to rain right around midnight. It rained steadily until about 4:00am and we received 0.35" of moisture. The day is still gray and dull, so I thought I'd brighten it up with some photos of Plants in Bloom!
If I were organized, I'd provide the cultivar names...
but I'm not...
and anyway this post is all about color...
and form...
So just enjoy the dainty blossoms.
In western Oregon fuchsias begin to bloom in June...
and will bloom non-stop until the first hard frost (this is Rhys 2001).
They just require protection from direct sun...
So the north-facing front porch is perfect!
And I enjoy watching the Hummingbird dance among the blossoms!

All your fuschias are beautiful. Isn't it amazing how many varieties there are, and they're all so pretty.
In Northern Ireland on the Antrim Coast fuschias grow wild and in hedges. I understand this is unusual and due to the coastal conditions. It really was a beautiful sight.
What a lovely selection of fuchsias with such pretty colours.
