Tuesday Stitch, Tuesday Plant, Tuesday Recipe

I'm still waffling...Stitch the top right snowman?  He is kinda' Christmasy.  Stitch the top left snowman?  Can I handle the square-on-a-slant weirdness?  I'll let you know when I've decided.

Monday dawned with a gun-metal gray sky.
The Douglas Fir glowed in contrast...as did...

My brand new-to-me Witch Hazel...Hamamelis "Sunburst".
It is a narrow, upright plant that tolerates shade and is deer-resistant.  It blooms in January and February.  A keeper I think!  

My admission ticket was a winner at the Lane County Hardy Plant Group meeting a week ago.  Thanks so much to Roger Gossler at Gossler Farms Nursery for donating such a great plant.

So I think this great plant celebrates nicely A Tuesday Garden Party but Jaime has requested seasonal recipes this week.  I'm not sure just how seasonal this is, but it certainly is great finger-food for watching football or basketball and most of the ingredients can be sourced locally.

Kielbasa Bundles

1/2 lb. fully cooked Kielbasa sausage, chopped
1 small onion chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup barbecue sauce
2 tubes (8 oz. each) refrigerated Crescent Rolls
8 slices American Cheese

In a large skillet, cook sausage for 5-8 minutes; drain.  Add onion, garlic, and butter, cook until tender.  Stir in barbecue sauce, heat through.

Unroll Crescent Roll dough and separate into eight rectangles; seal perforations.
Place a cheese slice on each; top with 2 tablespoons of sausage mixture.  
Fold dough over and pinch edges.
Grease baking sheet.

Bake at 350F for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
