Saturday's Critters

This was very interesting to witness.

Barry the Buck and two doe were in the backyard near my birdfeeders when they all turned to look in the same direction.

Barry and one of the does haltingly, stiff-legged walked slowly over to this tree.

I could not see anything, nor did I hear anything.

On closer examination there was a bobcat tucked up under the tree.
This is an adult cat.

I'm pretty sure there was an adult and a kitten.

The doe was more aggressive and stomped and hit out with her front legs.

After a bit, the bobcat gave up and left they way it came.
Who knew that deer would take on a bobcat?
They must have smelled the animals as there was no hesitation as to where the danger was lurking.

And now "normal" stuff.

Chipmunk

Fawn #2

And further chipmunks

Have a safe and happy weekend.

Interesting with the deer and bobcat! I wonder if the doe was defending a fawn.
