Did you eat pumpkin pie on Thursday?

I saw four out of the six possible woodpeckers on the same day.

A female Downy

Female Hairy Woodpecker.

A female Flicker

And the two male Acorn Woodpeckers

The youngster

The adult male

One of the things I love about Acorn Woodpeckers, is their refusal to back down from Starling aggression.

Enough is enough!

(I did not see a Red-breasted Sapsucker or a Pileated Woodpeckers - numbers 5 and 6 referenced by my blog title.)

Getting in the Spirit

Hirons Drugstore is a wonderful local store.

Especially if you celebrate color!

Their many displays for Christmas each have a different theme.

This is a Jim Shore tree.
I might have purchased a couple of gnome ornaments.

Dean Crouser was on the University of Oregon wrestling team back in the day.
Now he has an extremely successful career as an artist.

Velvety neon colored ornaments.

Retro Christmas

Owls, owls, and yet more owls

Mushrooms

Trees in every rainbow color

My favorite part of the spectrum.
I hope you enjoyed visiting Hirons with me.

Saturday's Critters

Several different critters this week.

Every morning when I scatter black oil sunflower seeds on the ground, the chipmunks rush to greet me.

There were three the other day.

Plenty of food for all.

The cheek pouches are full.

There was a gray squirrel too.

Even a bunny came by for brunch,

Bunny nose!

He ignored the quail and the quail ignored him.

The deer we're seeing have changed.
No Barry the Buck, Spike is now visiting.

There's always two or three does.
Most appear interchangeable.

But this doe, with the white/red eye is distinctive.
