Two good motifs - an owl and a pumpkin. A very October stitch!
So back to hummingbirds.
The west coast is fortunate to have Anna's Hummingbirds all year.
I have 2 or three females.
Here's one of them.
And I think I have two males.
A mature male, and then this rather mottled guy.

Lovely owl/pumpkin piece, Beth! Love the shots of the hummers. I think mottle guy didn't like being called that. It looks like he is sticking his tongue out at you.
