Easter Finest 1957

Elsie Greenwell Upton and Olivia Upton Adams
Spring 1957 (Easter)

Elsie Upton Greenwell was my great-grandmother (my maternal grandmother's mother).  Elsie was born in Damascus, Clackamas County, Oregon to a mother who came to Oregon before statehood in 1852. Olivia Upton Adams was her husband's only sister.  She was married to George Adams.  They lived on the Oregon Coast and later in Eugene.
Olivia's name is not pronounced "Oh-liv-ee-ah", but rather "Oh-live-ah" (with a long i sound).

What fun family history. So exciting to have family history which goes back before Oregon was a state. Oh the exciting times your family has lived through.

What a great history you have in Oregon. Have you read any Jane Kirkpatrick? She has some great books based on Oregon history. I love her books and have read many of them.
