Even though I'm featuring snowmen, the weather this month has been crazy mild. High temps in the 50's and lows in the 40's. It seems more like late March than January.
Yesterday I had a couple of Downy Woodpecker show up first thing in the morning. This is a male.
He headed straight to a suet cage and a bite of breakfast.
The female Downy lurked at the edge of the backyard with a Junco.
She flew off without having any breakfast.

Sweet snowman! Last night, they said we have had 20 days of above average temperatures in January.
I always enjoy seeing the woodpeckers! Mild and rainy here too.
