Wet Wednesday

On Saturday I thought the creeks were full and strong.

They certainly were running at full boar.
See the green moss-covered rock on the left?

Here it is again on Sunday afternoon after 1.25" of further rain.
It is submerged and the rocks above are barely peeking out.

This is spot on Dorothy's Creek where the deer and other creatures ford the stream by our trail camera.  I wouldn't want to attempt to cross it now.

Foam

and froth!

The Big Creek is rising too!

Several years ago my Dad and brother built a new bridge after the old one washed away. They sited it higher and a good thing too!

I enjoy the sound of a winter creek. There's one near our house and it was fun to take the grandchildren to see it. When they were here in the summer there was the merest trickle of water, but at Christmas it was rushing.

Bet it's noisey out there. I wanted to let you know I enjoy the quail picture everyday on my ipad.

I love seeing all those pretty creeks! That is as long as they aren't flooding and messing things up. We have had quite a bit of that this winter.
