Friday's Birds With a Twist

I had the opportunity to see a lovely decorative item from Guatemala.

I was stunned by the over 100 different birds that adorned the poncho.
Or is it a serape?  I am going to have to get clarification.

As best I could tell each and every bird was unique - there was no duplication.

Look at the bird on the upper left hanging upside down.
And I like how the birds 'intrude' from their space into their neighbor's.

I am thinking the bottom left bird might be a hummingbird of some sort.

Flying birds, strutting birds...

upside-down seed eating birds!

That is absolutely beautiful! I wonder if they have all those colorful birds or if some were the imagination of the designer.

It's beautiful. So much work! And not just the stitching but planning it all out. Amazing!
