Squirrelly Saturday

I've had lots of squirrel activity of late including my reclusive California Ground Squirrel.

The Eastern Fox Squirrel has been working the feeders in the front of the house.

The chipmunks are hanging out on the woodpile near by largest bird feeder.

There are fewer of them active as the days get shorter.

But I still see two or three scurrying about.

They are pretty hyper-vigilant with the continued presence of a Sharp-shinned Hawk in the area.

I hadn't seen a Western Grey Squirrel for a while, but this one was in the backyard under the feeders Friday afternoon.

That reminds me of the fact that it's long ago that I have stitched one of these nice little guys. i'll have to look for a pattern and stitch one soon.

The grey ones are the ones we have around here. Down where my daughter lives, they get black ones too. Very cool.

Such cute little creatures. We put some of our decorative corn(Indian Corn) on the deck for the squirrels. I'm not sure they will like it.

Aren't the squirrels always very active? lol

So cute. I know we see grey squirrels as intruders over here in the UK but they are sweet and great to watch.
