March's Daffodil & April's Too

It's done and it's a beauty!

Design - "March's Daffodil"
Designer - Cottage Garden Samplings
Fabric - 32 count French Lace linen
Fibers - DMC, GAST, & WDW - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 26 March 2013
Completed 15 April 2013

A really nice stitch - the colors are very true to those pictured on the chart.  I had a bit of frogging with the 'forest' of stems and leaves, other than that, this was smooth sailing.

It's time for the Tuesday Garden Party over at an Oregon Cottage.  I thought I'd continue the theme of daffodils, as I still have lots blooming in mid-April.

My Narcissus 'Jack Snipe' are at their peak right now.

This time of year, there's lots of sources of inspiration.
Down to Earth - one of my favorite nurseries.

This was a bouquet one of the members of the Hardy Plant Group brought to share.  There is Daphne, Trilliums, Lamb's Tongue, Bluebells, Sempervivums, and Clematis.

I usually steer away from orange in the garden, but I do like this Narcissus variety - 'Altruist'.

It is always pleasant to have help when gardening!

This is my Sedum Theatre - Before.

Here are my purchase.

Here's the Sedum Theatre - After!

My Mom bought me this lovely blue pot last year.
I planted Narcissus 'Sweet Pomponette' and Muscari latifolium.
I think it makes for a lovely companion planting.

More Sedums and Sempervivums...

Still more...

And yet more succulents.
Most of these spent the Winter in my small greenhouse.  They all came through with flying colors.

This is Tulip 'Clusiana'.  It is a very long narrow Tulip - the inside of the bloom is bright yellow.  It is supposed to naturalize easily and bloom year after year.

Back to bluey violet Pansies - so pretty.

I'll end the tour with Muscari 'Peppermint'.  I have three pots of these little sky blue bulbs.
I hope you enjoyed today's Garden Tour.

ooOoo! The sedums are so awesome. I have a small concrete birdbath planted with sedum. I need to redo it this year. Wish I could find the awesome variety you have going on there.

Cute finish and thanks for the plant tour! I haven't had time to do anything with the soil around here but have great plans for the future. For now, I'm container gardening.

Love the March Daffodil. One of these days, I'll get started on mine, hopefully. All the flowers and plants are lovely. The kitty in the wagon is too cute.

Any particular reason why you steer away from orange in the garden?
